June 2020: Mask for Mask
Our story begins at the height of the pandemic in Tempe, Arizona; Jamie was on an internship and Anthony was on summer break. An online meet-cute sent sparks flying in person, and we spent the first of many nights staying up late with endless conversation. Masked-up dates, outdoor dining, and long walks at Tempe Town Lake meant that we spent a summer in the desert falling completely into each other’s lives.
August 2020: Leavin’ on a Jet Plane Toyota Camry
As the summer drew to a close, Jamie packed up and headed back to New Jersey for his last year of college. We capped off our first three months with a road trip to Salt Lake City and spent an afternoon on Antelope Island in the Great Salt Lake (more on this later). Over dinner we dreamed of a life post-college and post-COVID, and we officially became a long-distance couple.
Summer 2021: Together At Last
We proved our relationship was distance-proof and pandemic-proof when Jamie got a job offer in Phoenix after college. We got our first apartment together near Papago Park and took our relationship to the next level – we make pretty good roommates if we say so ourselves!
February 2022: A New Addition
We tried our hand at co-pawrenting and welcomed our three-legged friend Lefty to the family. Since then it’s been nothing but tormenting his older sister Katya, watching birds out the window, and finding the warmest places to nap.
March 2023: To the Promised Land
After starting our life in the Arizona sun, we set our sights on snowier horizons. We both took new jobs in Salt Lake City, and our new adventure began! We became regulars at local restaurants (no, really, ask us for recommendations), made ourselves kings of the slopes in the Greatest Snow on Earth, and explored all five of Utah’s famous National Parks.
October 2023: The Stars Align
Anthony popped the question under the dark sky of a solar eclipse, on Antelope Island where we planned our future together 3 years prior. Jamie said yes!
Summer 2024: Virginia is for Lovers
Once again we felt the call for something new, and while on vacation in the Caribbean Jamie interviewed for a job in DC wearing the nicest Hawaiian shirt we had between us. We visited northern Virginia for an in-person interview and the rest was history! Jamie moved in September and Anthony followed in November.
September 2026: Forever and For Always
The big day! We can’t wait to celebrate our love story with you.
